Snakes and Ladders

Believe it or not, this classic children’s game started as an ancient Indian board game known as “Moksha Patam”, with thematic roots in lessons of morality and karma. Some might also know this game as “Chutes and Ladders”. Historically, the ladders, which propel you faster through the board, represent virtues such as generosity, faith, and humility. Snakes, which hinder your progression in the game, represent vices such as lust, anger, murder, and theft. A player's progression through the board represents a life journey complicated by the mix of virtues (ladders) and vices (snakes). Snakes and Ladders is ideal for helping young children to develop patience, understand turn-taking, and practice their counting. The game can be played with 2-4 players and with children aged 3 and up. Our version contains a hand-painted game board, individual game pieces, a wooden, colored die, and an attractive wooden box to safely store all the pieces for years to come. Use Snakes and Ladders as a wonderful opportunity to sit down with family and friends for some quality time!
