A good mechanical puzzle should make you ask a question almost immediately.
How are these pieces connected?

Three metal pieces twist around one another in a form that almost looks impossible to separate. There isn't a box hiding the mechanism. There aren't dozens of pieces creating confusion.
There are just three pieces and the relationships between them.
Understanding those relationships is the puzzle.
That simplicity is one of the things we look for in a great metal brain teaser. The object doesn't need to look complicated to create a complicated problem.
It Should Feel Good in Your Hands
Metal puzzles are physical objects.
Weight matters. Finish matters. The way two surfaces move against one another matters. Even the sound and resistance of the pieces can become part of solving the puzzle.
This is an area where different manufacturers develop very different personalities.

One of the misconceptions about mechanical puzzles is that more pieces mean more difficulty.
Often, the opposite is true.
Some of the most frustrating metal puzzles consist of only two or three parts.
With fewer pieces, there is nowhere for the solution to hide, which makes the experience even more interesting. You know exactly which pieces are involved. You may even know approximately what needs to happen.
You just can't make it happen.

Difficulty alone doesn't make a great puzzle.
You can make almost anything frustrating.
A great mechanical puzzle gives you something better: a moment when your understanding of the object changes.
You may spend half an hour trying the same movements from slightly different angles. Then you notice something.
Perhaps one piece needs to rotate rather than pull.
Maybe a groove you assumed was decorative has a purpose.
Perhaps the orientation you've been using from the beginning is completely wrong.
Then something moves.

What do you do immediately after solving it?
With a great metal puzzle, the answer is often: put it back together and give it to someone else.
You want to watch what they try.
You want to see whether they make the same assumptions you made.
And, perhaps most importantly, you try very hard not to give them a hint.
That's when a puzzle becomes more than a solitary challenge. It becomes something passed between friends, left on an office desk, brought to a family gathering, or used to start a conversation with someone who can't resist picking it up.
The puzzle may only contain a few pieces, but the experience continues every time someone new tries it.

It's a newer and growing metal puzzle line with its own approach to mechanical challenges. Its collection explores trapped objects, interlocking pieces, rings, bolts, grids, and other mechanisms, with each puzzle built around a clear challenge.

Tetso offers the excitement of a collection that is still expanding.

After handling a lot of mechanical puzzles over the years, we've learned that there isn't one mechanism, material, difficulty level, or design style that makes a puzzle great.
Sometimes it's three pieces that refuse to separate.
Sometimes it's a ring that appears permanently trapped.
Sometimes it's an object that seems to have no possible way out.
And sometimes the solution has been in plain sight from the moment you picked up the puzzle.
