Cribbage was conceived by the English poet Sir John Suckling in the early 17th century, as a derivation of the game "Noddy". While Noddy has disappeared, Cribbage has endured, virtually unchanged, as one of the most popular games in the English-speaking world! Once you learn how to play, there’s no doubt as to why this classic game has survived for so long.
In Cribbage, each player races towards the end of the board as they collect points from the hand of cards that they are dealt. Each point corresponds to how many spaces you are able to move along the track. The objective is to be the first player to score a target number of points, usually 61 or 121. Points are decided by card combinations from your own hand or by playing off of your opponent’s cards, making Cribbage a game of both luck and skill. Our board is handmade with two tracks and comes with a full deck of playing cards as well as 8 pegs - all of which can be stored safely inside a slot at the back of the board. Kick off a family game night tradition with a classic game that can be passed down to future generations!
