Tock 4 - Family Strategy Board Game

Well made and fun to play. not coming with instructions is the only reason this does not have 5 stars.

This quality of the woodwork is decent though the latch system is not well done. Had the latch been made accessible to actual human sized fingers or used elastic instead of just cord, it would be actually user friendly. The e game, on the other hand, is embarrassing. The game itself is a copy of a popular Canadian game but the board isn’t made for the rules they obviously copied from some other game.

For one, there are no labels on the start and home and it’s not clear exactly how the gameplay is supposed to unfold. Who starts the game, how many cards get played at once? When do you draw more cards? Also, it is unclear what the rules are for certain plays like what happens if your own piece lands on a space you already occupy? Do you send yourself home?

The rules mention a break area though there aren’t directions for how to play out of the break area or how the pieces are to reenter the board. There is also mention of a “Heaven” circle on the center of the board but there is no such circle. A quick internet search will show a normal Tock game board with a circle but this version doesn’t have one.

Overall, I give the craftsmanship of the game a 3 and the game itself (and lack of rules or lack of even having the full game board) a 1 star rating.

The whole family loves this new game. Sellers were easy to work with, and answered questions almost immediately!! The game arrived quickly and was well packaged. We would definitely recommend Kubiya Games to anyone looking for a new board game!!!  Thank you so much!!Lisa and Dan Heart
