The traditional 6 piece burr is the most well known of all burr puzzles, and probably of all 3D interlocking puzzles in general. The origin of the 6 piece burr puzzle is unclear, but it has been traced back to the beginning of the 19th century in Germany. There are two kinds of burr puzzles, ones that contain no internal "holes" and usually have a full piece bar, and ones that do contain "holes" in the interior of the puzzle body. The classic 6 piece burr puzzle is a solid burr with no "holes" and contains three sets of rod pairs, which need to intersect to form the burr shape puzzle.
This medium-difficulty puzzle is a perfect way to practice your patience and concentration as you search for the perfect placement of each piece to form the burr, making it a good first puzzle for any beginner.
Once you’ve solved the Burr Puzzle it makes a beautiful art piece to display on a bookshelf or coffee table for others to enjoy.
