The two oldest board game for two players in human history. It's not a coincidence that they booth strategy game!

Chess is believed to have originated in Eastern India, 280 – 550 CE, in the Gupta Empire, which make the game one of the oldest board game for two players in human history. Each player begins the game with 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. Each of the six piece types moves differently. Pieces are used to attack and capture the opponent's pieces, with the objective to 'checkmate' the opponent's king by placing it under an inescapable threat of capture.

Backgammon is one of the oldest board game for two players in human history. The playing pieces are moved according to the roll of dice, and a player wins by removing all of his pieces from the board before his opponent. Although luck is one of the determining factors in the outcome, strategy plays a more important role in the long run. With each roll of the dice, players must choose from numerous options for moving their checkers and anticipate possible counter-moves by the opponent. So press the "Off" button, take a seat, and challenge your family member or friend with the one of the strategy games. The wooden board game folds in to half to hold all playing pieces internally when you are not playing.
